Notice is hereby given to the general public that the Electoral Commission of Zambia has prescribed Thursday, 6th September, 2018 as the date on which to hold the Parliamentary By-election in Kasenengwa Constituency of Kasenengwa District. On the same date, the Commission will also conduct five (5) Local Government by-elections in Kamalamba, Liyovu, Mabili, Nkenyauna and Shikombwe wards.
Herewith the Official Results of the 26th July, 2018 Elections which were held in Lusaka (for Office of Mayor) and Council Chairpersons’ elections in Chilanga, Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lumezi, Lusangazi and Chifunabuli districts.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia wishes to commend the Zambia Police Service and all political parties that participated in the Lusaka Mayoral election and Council Chairpersons’ elections in Chilanga, Chasefu, Lumezi, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lusangazi, and Chifunabuli as well as Local Government by-elections in North Western, Western, Luapula and Northern provinces for the peaceful manner in which the 26 July polls were conducted.
The (By)-Elections in Lusaka, Chilanga, 6 newly created districts and five ward by-elections have been conducted today as planned with a low number of voters turning up.

FACTS: ELECTION SUPPORT CENTRES IN THE 26th JULY 2018 MAYORAL / COUNCIL CHAIRPERSONS’ AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (BY) ELECTIONS
The Election Support Centres were initiated, during the 2016 General Elections and Referendum. Election Support Centres were established at National and Provincial level with the main aim of ensuring that the Commission at Headquarter level is well informed of key activities taking place in the field during any particular election. In turn, as challenges arise, the Commission strives to apply immediate corrective measures in the field to ensure that the elections are conducted according to the laid down procedures.
The Briefing of Uniformed Staff and Party Agents is taking place today in various districts where elections are expected to take place across the country.
During the Conduct of the 26th July, 2018 Polls, the Commission will establish Election Support Centres in Districts where the elections will be taking place.
