i get puzzled by the way our electoral process is handled, has the commission taken advantage of the peace and patience that the citizens exercises even wen the delay? allow me to say “foolishness is doing the same thing over and over yet expecting a different answer.” why do you always delay results? if Zambia gets characterized by any form of “violence”, God forbids will will point it to the commission who has kept on postponing the press conference. Are you telling me that when that pronouncement for the next briefing was made, there was no agenda? I personally wanted to wait for the commission but looks like the private sector is more organized and know that putting in the dark is rather alarming. We’ve come a long way, E.C.Z please you can do better than what you are doing now.

Thank you for the clarification ECZ.The question would be, where did the social media get the information that the Truck was carrying unsealed Ballot Boxes from Luangwa to st Patrick’s Polling station ? As Zambians i feel we should be very careful with the social media as this has potential to cause problems in our beloved peaceful country,Zambia with its news.Let us always verify with the relevant offices before acting on very sensitive information from social media.
Awaiting for the results from ECZ

Please elders of ecz be specific with what you pronounce to people because time is important. If you say 22 let it be 22, mind you people can suspect you because of not being time keepers.

But if he works for ECZ, why did the commission allow him to deliver unsealed ballot papers?

  26. August 13, 2016 at 12:32

The ecz does not steal elections, if it did practice rigging, unip or mmd would have been in power to date well done our commission.

It should have brought about more clarification had you mentioned as to whether the ballots were sealed or not sealed. If indeed not sealed as alleged, a convincing explanation to that effect would be much helpful.

The members of the public especially those from the opposition political parties should have confidence in ECZ. They should also know the electoral system in Zambia is very transparent and that it is practically impossible to manipulate election results.

I think there is too much imaturity and. Mistrust by some people on ECZ. Though when I look at the people who are complaining time and again is UPND. We are following each and every activity that is taking place from the time of campaigns up to voting and giving out results. ECZ you are there as non partisan and I suppose these parties should give the due respect that is your. How many parties are there? How many have complained? Why is it that UPND is the only party that is playing monkey tricks? Imagine a cadre given power to search trucks, for. What? Does it mean that tou are not trusted? These people are setting the country on fire, already the samme people have division in this. Country. Thank you

    August 15, 2016 at 16:29

They should be arrested and tried for interfering with legitimate duties of ECZ and it’s personnel. We are appalled at the lawlessness of UPND and believe they should face some sanctions in future and jail terms.

Threats and demeaning conduct to ECZ staff, in particular nasty remarks directed at Ms Isaacs is undermining our democratic functions.

Does the commission allow drivers to deliver ballot papers whilst unaccompanied?
From the excerpt above it is deduced that the driver is alone as no one else is mentioned ie security officers

    • ECZ
      April 12, 2017 at 06:55

All drivers delivering ballot boxes are accompanied by the Zambia Police Officers.
